Northampton, UK… The Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation (IHWO) and the Weston Favell Centre Library are working in partnership to host a major exhibition and Hindu cultural event on Saturday 9 May, 1 – 3pm, at Weston Favell shopping centre’s library in Weston Favell, Northampton.
The event will host an exhibition of the state-of-the-art sports, leisure and entertainments complex that will be built on Lings Way in Lumbertubs Ward, Northampton. This complex, to be known as the Northampton Kutumbh (or “wider family”) Centre, will be open to everyone and will provide a range of exciting activities that will help energise the local communities in Northampton. IHWO, which is responsible for developing this landmark building, is currently in the process of preparing the planning application for build approval and expects building work to start in 2010.
“In addition to the Northampton Kutumbh Centre exhibition the event will provide a fun day out for all the family. There will be a range of Hindu culture activities such as Indian food tasting, Indian dance, how to wear a “saree” demonstration and a colourful “rangoli” art workshop,” said Neelam Aggarwal, Chairperson at IHWO.
John Clarke, Community Librarian, at Weston Favell Centre’s Library, added “Our library works hard in building links with the local communities around Weston Favell. We are therefore very pleased to partner with IHWO in hosting this event, which will give people an insight into the Hindu culture and provide an open forum to comment on the exciting Northampton Kutumbh Centre.
